While the COVID-19 shut down is loosening up in some areas around the country, businesses are asking, “what do I post on social media?!”.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – being transparent and proactive with your communication is KEY.

Start with any relevant updates about your business, and don’t hesitate to share the same updates several times. Not everyone will see the first post, and link back to your website if you have more information there. Share a post that gives the dates you plan to re-open and what procedures are in place. Share stories that show your employees back at work while following the protocols you have in place, whether it’s wearing a mask, staying six-feet apart, etc…If you are not a customer-facing business, simple announcements that include both when office hours will resume and how you plan to put employees and customers first works also.

Another idea to boost the energy is to highlight some of your key or best performing employees. See example below:

“As we begin to re-open, we wanted to give a shout out to Lisa who has been actively staying in communication with all of our patients throughout this transition. Please expect to hear from her or give her a call at the practice any time at 972-334-5432. Aside from coordinating her practice duties from home, she’s really enjoyed her new Peloton bike and taking long outdoor nature walks. We can’t wait to be back in the office, and Lisa is looking forward to being able to see your smiling faces soon!”

Last but not least, create a COVID-19 themed promotion to help encourage patients to book an appointment. Be sensitive to the state of the economy and perhaps play up what some of the most common challenges consumers are facing right now (ie financial, emotional, physical, etc…).
